Clarkston Community Center Welcomes New Team Members
The Clarkston Community Center is pleased to welcome several new team members who will support community programs, youth engagement, and creative learning at the Center.
As the Center continues to strengthen its programming and community partnerships, these new team members bring valuable experience, cultural knowledge, and a shared commitment to serving Clarkston’s diverse community.
Zainab Saeedi, Program Facilitator
Zainab Saeedi joins the Clarkston Community Center as a Program Facilitator, where she supports community-based programs and helps create a welcoming, organized environment for participants.
Zainab holds an Associate degree in Business Management and brings experience in case management and human resources. Her background includes supporting clients, maintaining documentation, and managing administrative and organizational tasks.
She has also completed the CITI Program certification in research ethics and compliance. Zainab is committed to supporting programs that serve diverse communities and help participants feel connected, respected, and supported.
Faria Salat, Youth Coordinator
Faria Salat joins the Center as a Youth Coordinator, where she is helping map resources for youth in Clarkston.
Originally from Kenya, Faria moved to Stone Mountain in 2013. She previously worked with World Vision Somalia in procurement and supply chain, bringing experience in coordination, organization, and community-focused support.
Faria is passionate about creating supportive, connected communities and speaks Swahili and conversational Somali. In her role, she will help strengthen the Center’s understanding of youth needs and available resources in the Clarkston area.
Robbie Barnes, Craft Instructor
Robbie Barnes joins the Center as a Craft Instructor, sharing her lifelong love of crochet with the community.
A native Atlantan, Robbie was introduced to crochet at the age of 11 when her childhood friend’s grandmother taught her the craft. From that moment, it was love at first stitch.
Over the years, Robbie has explored countless patterns, stitches, and techniques. Her passion for crochet has grown into both a calming outlet and a meaningful form of artistic expression. Through her work at the Center, Robbie brings creativity, patience, and joy to participants learning and practicing the craft.
The Clarkston Community Center is excited to welcome Zainab, Faria, and Robbie and looks forward to the many ways they will contribute to the Center’s programs and community impact.
