Creative Collective Launch: A Founding Gathering of Artists in Clarkston
On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Creative Collective came to life at the Clarkston Community Center, marking the beginning of a new chapter for artists, creators, and art supporters in our community. This first founding gathering brought together more than 40 artists and creative enthusiasts, celebrating diverse art forms, shared visions, and the power of community.
The Creative Collective isn’t just about art, it’s about building bridges between emerging and established artists, connecting voices, visions, and ideas. Together, we are shaping a thriving, supportive hub where creativity can flourish, mentorship can thrive, and opportunities can multiply. Artists thrive in community, not in isolation, and this event made that clear.
Highlights from the Evening

Plug-Ins: Artists shared their work, projects, and upcoming ideas in short showcases, sparking collaboration and conversation across mediums.

Networking & Connections: Participants met fellow artists, art supporters, and resource partners, exchanging ideas, advice, and opportunities.

Cultural Exchange: Our gathering celebrated the diversity of the community, centering refugee, immigrant, BIPOC, and Asian/AAPI artists, while welcoming all creators and supporters.

Tours & Community Space: Attendees explored the Clarkston Community Center, a hub transforming into a space where art combats isolation and builds social connection.
- This new art initiative were made possible through a grant from the Georgia Council for the Arts.

We were also thrilled to welcome back artists who participated in our previous events, including the International Women’s Day celebration, and to see new faces ready to dive into the Creative Collective movement.

The Creative Collective will now hold monthly Café-Style Gatherings on the last Friday of every month, offering a casual space to:

Our WhatsApp group keeps the conversation going between gatherings, helping artists stay connected, share opportunities, and support one another. In the future, the Creative Collective will expand into an interactive website, making resources, mentorship, and connections even more accessible.
This first gathering was only the beginning. Together, we’re building a community where art thrives, voices rise, and opportunities multiply.
