World Refugee Day Celebration 2024

The Clarkston Community Center is proud to host this year's World Refugee Day celebration. Recognized by the United Nations on June 20th, World Refugee Day is an annual event where the Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies, in collaboration with community organizations worldwide, gathers to honor this significant day.

We cordially invite you to join us at the Clarkston Community Center Inc (501c3) for our 11th annual World Refugee Day celebration on Saturday, June 22nd, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm! This day is dedicated to acknowledging and supporting the diverse communities of individuals who have resettled in Georgia from various parts of the world. Our event will highlight and celebrate the rich cultures of Georgia's refugee and immigrant communities, featuring:

- Traditional dances, cooking demonstrations, musical performances, a fashion show, and other cultural displays
- A vendor market offering delicious food, beautiful handicrafts, jewelry, and more from local immigrant-owned businesses
- Insights from community leaders and elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels

Join us as we stand in solidarity with refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants who have made Georgia their new home. This festive occasion is an excellent opportunity to connect with new neighbors, support small businesses, and advocate for inclusive policies. Don't miss out on this memorable event!
