Experience the Magic of Capoeira at Clarkston Community Center!

We are thrilled to introduce our newest partner, Big Dream Youth Academy, who will be leading an exciting Capoeira de Angola class at Clarkston Community Center every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, starting April 10th.

What is Capoeira de Angola?
Capoeira is a breathtaking Afro-Brazilian martial art that blends self-defense, dance, music, philosophy, and culture into one holistic practice. Born from the resilience of enslaved Africans, Capoeira disguised combat training as a rhythmic dance, allowing practitioners to preserve their heritage and resistance in the face of oppression.

Today, Capoeira is more than just a martial art—it’s an artistic expression, a form of self-discovery, and a celebration of movement that empowers the body, mind, and spirit.
