Community Center 2nd Annual Health Fair
The Clarkston Community Health Fair will be on May 20th from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm and everyone is welcome.
The event will include representatives from a number of local health organizations and will include information and screenings for such diseases and conditions as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, HIV, sexually-transmitted diseases, domestic violence injuries and more. Partners include the Diabetes Association of Atlanta, AID Atlanta, Center for Pan Asian Services, Center for Victims of Torture, InsureGA, NAMI and CareSource.
The event is open to everyone, and will be held rain or shine. The goal is to bring families and health and wellness professionals together in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, so any existing or potential health challenges can be determined and a care plan can be formulated. Counselors will be on site to talk about situations that affect health like domestic violence, the aftermath of trauma, HIV, etc. There will be private areas available for these types of screenings and conversations.
The day will include kids’ activities and refreshments for sale. All activities will take place on the Clarkston Community Center campus located at 3701 College Ave. in Clarkston, Ga. Free parking is available onsite.
