Behind the Global Woman’s Gaze – An Annual Art Exhibition
International Women’s Day– March 8, 2025

Clarkston Community Center (CCC) invites female artists to submit their work for an exclusive art exhibition celebrating International Women’s Day. This event highlights the creativity, resilience, and talent of minority women artists from Clarkston and Atlanta, Georgia.

This exhibition serves as a hub for women artists to showcase their work, connect with the community, and gain recognition. It also provides an opportunity for the community to come together, reduce social distance, combat isolation, and foster meaningful connections.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Open to female artists.
  • Submit 1 to 3 pieces of original artwork (painting, photography, sculpture, or mixed media).
  • Paintings and photographs must be framed.
  • No graphic content (explicit imagery, violence, etc.) allowed.
  • All submissions must include an artist statement (250 words max) and a short bio.
  • Submissions must be made through an online application. Selected artists will be notified via CCC’s website and social media.

Deadline for Submission: February 28, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)
Selected Artists Announced: March 3, 2025 (via CCC’s website & social media)
Art Drop-Off & Installation: March 4-6, 2025

Selection Process:

Due to limited exhibition space, only 15 female artists will be selected. CCC’s panel will review all submissions based on artistic quality, originality, and alignment with the mission of elevating underrepresented voices in the art world.

  • 10 established artists
  • 5 emerging artists

Artist Responsibilities:

  • Artists must personally install and curate their artwork at CCC.
  • Artwork will be displayed for one month, with select artists having the opportunity to extend their showcase into June for CCC’s 101 Legacy event.
  • Participation in at least one promotional effort (e.g., social media post or video invite).

Benefits for Artists:

  • 90% commission on sales – CCC retains only a 10% commission.
  • Exposure – Featured on CCC’s website, social media, and promotional materials.
  • Community Engagement – Present and explain your work to an engaged audience.
  • Networking Opportunities – Connect with fellow artists, collectors, and community members.
