Seniors on the Go Programs

Our programs include Tai Chi, Senior ESL, Monthly Art Programs with VSA, Dancing with Dance Core, Games, Pot Luck Lunches, and Lots of Fun.

Senior English as a Second Language (ESL)

One of the longest running programs, the Senior Refugee Program (SRP) provides ESL, exercise, fellowship and recreational opportunities to some of our most vulnerable residents. Older people who come as refugees face the most challenges in making the transition to a new culture, have difficulty learning English and are often isolated. We offer a comfortable, safe environment in which participants spend the morning learning English, talking with volunteers, getting valuable health education information, and interacting with each other.

Monthly Senior Art Program with VSA

On the second Tuesday and Wednesday of each month we offer a art program open to all seniors.  Each month the instructors from VSA and Mason Fine Arts teach a new art form and all of the results have been spectacular.

The first class was creating art boxes from wooden cigar boxes.  Each artist lined their box with fabric or marveled papers.  Then they decorated the outside with a variety of colorful papers.  The crowning touch was sequins, beads, ribbons and small plastic animals which were lovingly placed and glued by each of our artists.

Twice Weekly Dance Class with Core Dance

Dance Core works with the seniors twice a week to offer free form and group dance.  No partners necessary, just bring yourself for a fun hour of dance with music.
